I couldn't understand the statement (download by myself) - is it the moodle you're talking about?

If planet hoster is a free service (which I couldnt figure out from their website) then their resource allocation must be very limited to let you play around with some application like moodle. If you want to try uploading your own content on moodle, why not give a try to moodlecloud? as they do offer a free moodle instance as well.

Regarding steps, there must be documentation available as moodle documentation has improved much over time, but then I doubt if there will be available for Cpanel hosting or not, even if it isnt, and I assume your hosting provider have given you access to CPanel (if they have softaculous then they must have), then you may have to wait for a few days, as I had some video tutorials installing moodle manually on shared hosting, but as they were more than 4 years old and moodle installation steps has changed a bit since then, so I decided to re-do those tutorials so they can assist someone like yourself, few people who had watched those had asked me to provide them again so I thought of re-doing them from start for absolute newbies. so if you can wait for a few days you'll have something to get assistance from, else if you want things done over weekend, then you can pvt message me your hosting credentials and I will do the install for you.

Giralda,

First thing first, Do NOT USE SOFTACULOUS for installation of Moodle, it will break plenty of things in the long run. As script installers tend to modify code that is in interest of their hosting thus breaking plenty of things along the way, that may not showup at start, but specially when you start installing plug-ins.

Second, you cannot install any moodle plug-ins using softaculous, they have to be installed manually within moodle. So go to plug-in page, download and follow the instructions. (fingers crossed it will work on softaculous installed moodle)

third, you mentioned losing connection, was it from your end or their end? if their server went down, then their uptime is questionable, if you have recently purchased the hosting then I will recommend getting refund and trying somewhere else with reliable uptimes.

Hi Angeles,

Please give bit more information regarding your school size, as in number of students. Will you be setting up courses only or  there will be teachers using moodle for their own courses?

In addition, have the school provided you with server already? If yes what hardware specifications and operating system it will be running.

Answering these will give the community members an idea of where you stand and where you want to go, and help will be on its way accordingly.
