On this topic, I noticed that the brown, transparent icon was looking pretty messy on some people's sites using dark blue themes (for example).
To fix this I've made a new icon for 1.0.3 that should work with any theme and is even smaller than the old one. You can see it already in operation on this site.

Your PHP server has safe mode turned on. You need to make sure that your data directory is writeable. (Perhaps your system administrator can help).
