Easiest would be to truncate the log table to make it smaller ... there is a Moodle admin setting that lets you choose how much you want to keep.
But, hmm, that's an odd query too ... course 1 is the front page and I can't think offhand what that would be for ... what blocks do you have on your front page?

Your PHP might be nobbled in various ways. You might try creating your own config.php in the root directory of your Moodle (bypassing the whole install checking). You can use config-dist.php there as a template.
This sounds like something else: Moodle.org will unenrol you automatically if you haven't visited a course for 60 days.
Hi,
Moodle.org will soon be switching to a new theme - you can preview it by selecting the "moodle2" theme in your profile. More details about all the work (especially that of Urs Hunkler!) is at MDLSITE-496.
It's not quite ready yet, lots of polishing is still going on in various areas. One thing you should ignore is the blocks - they will all be updated when we switch. All the text in the top-level pages and menus are in a file within the standard language packs and will be translated in all languages. All moodle.org sites (including tracker and Moodle Docs) will have the same menus, making it easy to jump around.
One urgent hole that we have right now is the images that will be on the new home page. A mockup is here:

I'd really like to see those six images redrawn as matching illustrations with a common style and colour scheme, preferably as vector images so we can resize them easily ... can anyone here help us out?

Look in the admin menus:
Admin > Users > Authentication > Manage Authentication > auth_instructions
Admin > Users > Authentication > Manage Authentication > auth_instructions
