Does any one have any ideas how to write a predicting products test (chemistry) other than multiple choice and essay type questions. Is there any way for students to enter the predicting products in chemical formulas?

[This would probably be better in the Quiz forum, rather than in the QA forum.]

You might want to investigate the JME question type, from the modules and plugins database. I have never tried it, so I don't know which versions of Moodle it works with, or how well it works.

P.S. OpenMark can do this sort of question (e.g. http://www.open.ac.uk/openmarkexamples/p5_4.shtml).

Moving to the quiz module forum, as suggested.
