Zip & Unzip variables

Zip & Unzip variables

Hi there,

I'm having problems getting the Zip & Unzip variables to work on my hosted Redhat server. If I set them to /bin/gzip it finds the program but gives an error because the options aren't appropriate to that program.

Is Unzip the only program that will work? Is it a standard Redhat install? If so, where might I find it. The default settings just give "directory/file can't be found".

Thanks,

Mark Berthelemy

As you've found, gzip is not the same as unzip and zip.

The default settings work on Redhat, so if you get errors they might not be installed (you could install them, maybe).

The current CVS and nightlies now have a zip built in, which will remove this problem entirely (and also means zip now works on Windows).

Thanks Martin.

My hosting service have offered to install zip & unzip for US$20 - I'll leave it for the moment until I do a Moodle upgrade.
