Hi There very new to moodle

I am trying to load my first SCORM package file created in Camtasia studio

All I can get is the following:

The Camtasia Studio video content presented here requires JavaScript to be enabled and the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player. If you are you using a browser with JavaScript disabled please enable it now. Otherwise, please update your version of the free Flash Player by downloading here.

Flash is definatly installed and Javascript is enabled.

It also can run by itself, what could be the cause of this.

Hi Nick,
What version of Flash are you running? Check here
Also, check to see if you might have multiple versions of the Flash Player installed. If so, remove them all and reinstall the latest.

Hi Ruben

Thanks for the help

I have the latest version and no other version that I can see (9.0.124.0)

It runs stand alone (outside of moodle) and it doesnt run on any system I have tried it from, Vista, XP, Server, etc, which is what makes me think setup or config?

Regards

Nick

Is this on IE7? Try this on one of your machines.
Use the uninstaller for flash available here
Make sure you close any apps that might be using the flash player before you start to uninstall.
Adobe says "Note: Internet Explorer users may have to reboot to clear all uninstalled Flash Player ActiveX control files. If you're not certain, select the "Show Details" button in the Flash Player uninstaller. If there are any log lines that begin with "Delete on Reboot..." then you'll need to reboot BEFORE running the Flash Player installer again."

After that, reinstall the latest version and give it a go.

Nick,
Thinking about this a bit more- Do any swf files work in your Moodle installation? If not, look at Site Administration/Filters and check the settings on the Multimedia Plugins. Is swf set to Yes?

Thanks Ruben

I have done both un installing using the link and the a re-install.

And changing the filter to yes on swf.

but still exactly the same issue.

I have no idea why I am having so many problems?

Nick,
I made a very short SCORM with Camtasia for you to try just to eliminate Camtasia as the culprit.

Yeah I tried yours (thanks for doing that)

But exactly the same thing

The link to the site is:

http://www.sportsoft.com.au/moodle

its the only lesson on there, just to help us understand the features of moodle

Nick,
went to your site created an account, clicked email verification and got a 404 page not found error. Possibly related? Did a search on Moodle on 404s and IIS and found this thread , which give the fix:

1. Right click on my computer and select 'properties'
2. Select the 'Advanced' tab
3. Select 'Settings' for 'Performance'
4. Select the 'Data Execution Prevention' tab
5. Choose 'Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:'
6. Add the php.exe and php-cgi.exe files as your exemptions.

***************************************************************************
Since there is some data exchange between the SCORM and Moodle too, I though it might be applicable (note-thread above).

An another note, since we are using SCORMs a bit now, I did some poking around on our site to see if there were any issues with IE7 and flash. My SCORM activities come through fine, but when I click on a link to file (swf file) in Moodle, nothing happens. Turns out I had to add our site to enable pop-ups in IE7, even though the swf was set to use the same window.thoughtful

Hi Ruben

did all this and still no go.

I think I am getting closer though.  found a javascript error on the page when it loads:

"SWFObject is undefined"

its in the URL of the scorm package html file, it does the same thing for all scorm packages I create.

It seems that it cant find the swf file but I am not sure where that wold be set, or why my system would be afected and no one else.

Wow! Running out of ideas on this one. Just for grins, how about publishing in SCORM 2004?

Today I could not run a Camtasia SCORM content as well. Got a nice message from Moodle, that it could not find the file. I published this with Camtasia as Express Show Single SWF. I know that other Camtasia publishing options worked before with Camtasia and Moodle. So maybe try to publish with another option in Camtasia?

What I did? As we pack all our content in an Articulate presentation anyway, I did this with this single swf, repacked it as SCORM in Articulate and it works fine now wink

By the way - I am using the newest Camtasia 5.1. The other SCORMs I did was with the 5.0 version.

Cheers

Marcus

Hi,

This problem I had but I managed to track it down to the TIDY filter. This filter tidies up HTML content for all uploaded files (including SCORM packages). The TIDY settings are configured so that after the TIDY is completed only content between the body tags is returned. This means that some SCORM packages which try to load scripts etc in the head fail because the commands to load the scripts are removed by TIDY.

When I disabled TIDY my SCORM package loaded fine. I have logged a bug http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-18081 but a temporary fix is to disable the TIDY filter.
