Altering the appearance of previous / next activity buttons

Altering the appearance of previous / next activity buttons

Hello we are trying to alter the appearance of previous / next activity buttons in the navigation in the header.

We hoped to include "BACK" & "NEXT" images / background images that were more in keeping with our theme rather than use the unicode characters on a "submit" button format that is there as default.

Has anyone done any work in this area or have any suggestions?

We have found posts about changing the characters used etc but not much more than that. We also are aware and understand the accessibility issues involved and the purpose of the accesshide divs and text.

Cheers.

We have worked it out.

We had forgotten that you can apply a class to and therefore style a button or another type of form element.

Hi, How can you apply a class to the buttons? I mean I know how to do it normally, but wasn't sure how to get access to that bit of code in moodle. I can manage to create a button background but can't distinguish between the Next and Previous. I also can't get the .accesshide text (Next/Previous Activity) to show, despite numerous attempts! I'm new at this - please forgive!
