Is there a simpler way to set up multi choice quizes?

I am working to setting up a Airline Pilot course using Moodle, is there a way to enter quiz questions and answers via a text file like can be done in webct?

I would really appreciate any help I see by doing a search there are some php scripts in the developers section but I have no way if this is what I need or how to install and use the scripts.

Please correct my ignorance and direct me in the right direction if I have missed something simple.

Not just yet, but there will be in the next release. Work on the importing function has already been done, but only one (obscure) format is currently supported. Support for other formats, such as WebCT, Blackboard, IMS QTI, and others can be "plugged-in" relatively easily by any PHP programmer.
