I came across a great paper by Scott Walker of San Antonio Texas, Distance Education Learning Environments Research: A Short History of a New Direction in Psychosocial Learning Environments . The paper has many references to learning environment research and measurement tools, including COLLES. Thanks a lot for this very interesting reference David - I haven't read it in detail, yet, but I wonder if some of these other measures could be integrated into moodle sometime.
