How is the rating system used?
The ratings are a quick
way to provide some feedback on others' posts. For example, in one of
the forums in one of my courses, I have the following scale (from worst to best):
- This is not really relevant to this discussion
- It's just a little relevant to this discussion
- It adds some interesting points to this discussion
- It is a valuable contribution to this discussion
- It is an extremely valuable contribution to this discussion
The ratings that a student has received for any forum will then be summarized in the gradebook (grades) - a sample gradebook entry will look like this:
It is a valuable contribution to this discussion (23) 1/4/3/8/7 |
- This is not really relevant to this discussion (1 rating)
- It's just a little relevant to this discussion (4 ratings)
- It adds some interesting points to this discussion (3 ratings)
- It is a valuable contribution to this discussion (8 ratings)
- It is an extremely valuable contribution to this discussion (7 ratings)
and the "average" of all those is "It is a valuable contribution to this discussion"
Can I quickly pull up a list of all the posts I've rated "Perfect Answer" or "Some good information"?
No. Nor is it possible to quickly pull up all posts of yours that others have rated.
