I've spent the last few days reading an excellent new PHP book. "Advanced PHP Programming" by George Schlossnagle:

It's the first PHP book I've read that talks specifically about building big (dare I say Enterprise) applications in PHP and contains a lot of sensible advice about many of the development issues we talk about here.

The cover says that its for PHP5 but don't let that put you off. Most of it isn't 5 specific and the PHP5 bits are an interesting introduction.
