I've been searching around for this and can't find a past post so far.
When I manually run the back up - the following shows..
The worry is going in manually and looking at the existing backup zip by opening it in a "mock" moodle is there is no back up being done at all..
moodle 1.7 php 4.3.11
Can anyone advise on this?
Hi Kent
Did you set the write access (chmod 777) at the folders (ex. backup, moodledata) on your server? Second, can you activate the debug mode to see if there comes any error warning!? If yes, copy and paste it here as your answer.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the response. I didn't have the "backup" file set to 777 which I changed then I ran cron manually and this came up:

HI Kent
One step forward! Was the debug mode enable when you create a manual backup? If yes, deactivate the debug mode and run the backup once again. Tell us, if runs now with or without any problem!

Ok - I set debugging off.. and ran manual back up, and the same error as the first post showed up.
(just to be clear - the error that I'm speaking of is at the point of not allowing the full backup to run at the point of the screen prompt. When I go in to check the zip file it is still the original zip from the very beginning of the installation of the school. Not any of the information since that point. So this problem has been going on all along. If I could get the backup to run complete and save it to move into a mock 1.9 that I'm running on my desktop through Vertigo Serve, then at least I know I have a system with the current stuff backed up - god forbid it goes south on me. This is an actively running school as I type..)

Hi Kent
First, some reading for you click here
Second, and i mean a easy way to check it out, last time i see this message, the user delete the existing files in backup/user_files folder and this brings the solution.
