I have no idea where I went wrong. I followed the instructions as best as I could, read these forums for days, and all I see is a blank screen after completing the installation and going to the admin page. What might be the cause of this? I must say, this appears to be an incredible program, and I am looking forward to getting it up and running! Any suggestions???
Blank screens are almost always due to something wrong in config.php, such as missing semi-colons, or quotes, or perhaps a wrong value for $CFG->dirroot.

Martin solved my problem. It seems when I placed the whole moodle folder in my web server documents directory using Smartftp, many of the folders did not transfer. I was actually missing 6 of the folders. Hope this can help someone else.
