If anyone has integrated Door into their Moodle install may I take a look at what this looks like for a teacher?

We need a repository urgently and would appreciate any insights.

Hi,
if you need to test DOOR <-> MOODLE you can send me an email (mauro.nidola _AT_ lu.unisi.ch) .
DOOR plugin doesn't work on moodle > = 1.8.X, becasue moodle developers changed the resources mechanism.

now that 1.9 is nearly at full release..is there any talk of DOOR being upgraded to meet Moodle's new resourcing requirements?

Hi,
DOOR doesn't work on moodle 1.8.x and moodle 1.9.x.
To fix the problem I need to understand the new resource mechanism.
Where can I find info on the new mechanism?
Please help me so that I can fix the problem and keep DOOR alive.
Many thanks, Mauro Nidola

Hi,
iam using DOOR 1.7.0 with the 1.7 moodle plugin and a moodle 1.8 version. stand-alone makes no problem.
tryin to send an asset out of moodle course, doesnt work correct.
It all works fine untill the last step. After the door window have opened and i decided how to save the asset (eg as asset in the existing door node) I get an error message from door that the ims-files cant be stored.
By the way is there any way to avoid that a student can see and use the door block in moodle?
Would be nice get some answers.
Bye
Frank

Hi,
how are you? Could you please tell me the exact error message so that I can check in the code? Is the tmp/ directory (it's in the uploads/ one) writable by the webserver?

Thank you for reporting errors.

Forgot to talk about the visibility of the block.
It's not possible for now to hide the block for users and show it only for teachers / admin, however an account as author / administrator (on DOOR) is required in order to be able to export assets on DOOR.
I don't think that users have such account on DOOR.

You can also decide to show the block when you need it / hide it when you don't using the "moodle eye".

I treid to install DOOR 1.7.2 but without any results.

The setup procedure failes with an error:

The repository is not working! Check that the configuration file exists.

Could it be that there are more problems with DOOR preventing it from installalling?

Hans.

Hans - I tried installing DOOR a couple of days ago (1.7.2) with the Moodle plugin and am able to create sources in DOOR and then select and add them to my Moodle course. I would go back and double check that you are following the DOOR installation instructions closely. Make sure you get DOOR working on its own first and then try and see what happens within Moodle. Hi Anthony,

I've given it an other try. But without any results.

Error: The repository is not working! Check that the configuration file exists.

Created a separate sub domain for DOOR.

Installed everything in the root. Removed read-only attributes, Given all possible permissions in IIS incl. read/write/execute etc. Created a test database from scratch in MySQL.

But the result is : The repository is not working! Check that the configuration file exists.

btw: The config.php file does excist and the new configuration info is in there.

I've given all possible permissions on all folders

Did anyone tried this on Windows 2003 IIS?

Hans.

Hi Anthony,

where did your download the Moodle plugin? In the actual DOOR 1.7.2 package from sourceforge the described moodle_plugin/* files are not contained!

OKOKOK, first read then type. The file is to be found here:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/door/moodle_plugin-1.7.0.zip?modtime=1193826564&big_mirror=0

Has eLab supported installation of DOOR 1.7.2 with Moodle 1.9 yet?

I tried and failed. Reading these posts, it seems like I'm not alone.  Looks like it isn't supported yet and its neccesary to use DOOR 1.7 for a uccessful installation. (Thanx Marcus.)

It's been a couple of weeks so I thought I'd ask.

Anyone who's experienced success getting Door 1.7.x installed & operational with Moodle 1.9 (Windows XP) & willing to explain how they managed it is welcome to send e-mail.

Thanks for your consideration.

I've installed Door  1.7.2 within the Moodle folder and managed to initially configure my Door installation there:

D: Xampplite\moodle\moodle\door

That's as far as I get. What do I need to move around in order to to complete configuration of the door Door plugin so it becomes a transparent Moodle module and block?

Re: Look at Door & Moodle integration

I slept on it and woke up realizing Marcus's post (above) truly tells all.

DOOR 1.7.2 needs the files and folders from moodle_plugin-1.7.0 to integrate with Moodle 1.9. Not a difficult concept, but I missed it.

On to installing the plug_in.
