I would recommend Web server with a dual quad core, 4GB RAM & database server with dual core, 8 GB RAM... both of these servers connected with a 1GB port and powered with SCSI HDD with RAID 1...
You will need quite a few changes in LAMP configurations to boost server performance...
For redundancy, you could also think of slave servers...
