Dwayne - You might consider using dbsessions to get around the sessions issue. Again, this is typically a permissions issue but with the Novell setup I do not know how PHP may be handling it. I also cannot explain why 1.7 would work and 1.8 not work but try switching 1.8 to use the database for sessions and see what happens. If other folks with Novell are experiencing similar behavior then we could create an issue in the tracker.
