I don't know how to get past the Data Directory Error. I've tried creating new folders in various places using cpanel in MediaTemple, but the installer still doesn't find the newly created folder.
I really have no clue what I'm doing.
Try viewing these videos...they are for installing 1.6.5 without the proper MySql database version, but the video in step 2 may help you solve your problem.
