Gradebookplus_v2 is freely available to the Moodle community. No purchase is required. You will have full functionality by downloading that module (either via CVS or at http://download.moodle.org/patches/gradebookplus_v2_1.7.zip). The most useful feature for me was being able to go in and edit the grades. Others liked having managed graded events that were not Moodle offline assignments.
