Thanks for the link. I knew it was there somewhere.
I did this with mixed results: Really what I want on the front page is a list of links viewable only by someone in our school (thereby requiring login). I dont particularly care if these links are in a glossary or just sit on a web page.
The permissions system works however there do not seem to be basic "view resource" or "view glossary" permission settings. So, even though Guests for example can be overridden using the approach above there is no way to block unauthenicated users from just viewing resources or glossaries off the home page.
I got around this by making it an offline assignment (for which there IS a permission of "view assignment") with no expiration or anything. Strange but it works I suppose. Perhaps there is a more elegant solution I am missing.
