Moodle use grows...

We've just reached our 150th student registration here in Oxford.

Unfortunately less than half of them have actually bothered to enrol in and take the course so far.

It's a problem...and not a technical one, obviously...it's a question of motivation. Because of the experimental nature of the small course we are running as a pilot, it was not made a compulsory part of this year's curriculum, but rather students were directed to it as a recommended way of testing their understanding of this particular subject, ahead of the exams, which are in about two and a half weeks.

This course has been live since the week before Christmas, and yet less than half of the students have registered, and less than half of *those* have taken the course.

Oh well (Beardie wanders off to find his big foam cluebat and pound sense into a few more student heads).

well, quite so smile

We are hoping that in the new academic year it will be, together with several other moodle courses on other subjects in the curriculum. Maybe then they will use it...especially if there are reasonable deadlines put in place for the various activities smile
