Can anyone see a problem with allowing a user to change their own username?

Changing the code isn't a problem; I just need to modify the user form. If I do this, is their some unforeseen consequences that I haven't seen?

We have usernames and passwords in the schooldatabase, so even in the personal page they are NOT allowed to change these.. I changed the input field into an echo.

There is only one program on school where the are allowed to change their password and then it is changed for all apps. (LDAP)

This should be an option controlled by the
  • Site Administrator
  • Admins in charge of specific departments or specific arieas
  • Teachers of a course

School policy should determine if this can or cannot be done and who can do it in the "chain of command".

Again, cutomization from the Site Admin Panel..
