I don't know the answer to your actual question.
In a related subject: is Moodle completely moving off SourceForge, i.e. is it no longer going to be a SourceForge project (I know the CVS server is being moved elsewhere)? They've just opened up their (beta version) Marketplace services exchange - if Moodle was still an active project on SourceForge then people could buy and sell development that way.

Not sure on what the plans are re sourceforge, but my understanding is that the Moodle Partner program (could be called a "marketplace") is the way for people to be able to pay to get "stuff developed"
The Moodle partners all follow particular guidelines and procedures and the users are assured of getting quality code that conforms to the Moodle coding guidelines. - I'd suggest any developers wanting to get further involved should contact some of the existing Moodle partners, and pass on their CV's - even send them to Moodle.com - sometimes jobs even open up at Moodle HQ!

Daphne - If all you want to do is get a Moodle instance up and running - Moodle Partners are probably your best first call - You probably won't need someone to work full-time, it may just be easier to get a hosted install of moodle from one of the moodle partners. Good luck!
I'm a little confused too. I have a recollection of reading somewhere a while ago that would-be developers could always find lots of projects waiting for someone to work on them at moodle.com. I recently went to moodle.com and all I could find was a job listing for full time developers in Perth. Not what I had in mind at all.
Then I went back to moodle.org and noticed that there is a forum listed on the front page called Moodle jobs, where I found about a dozen posts from Moodlers asking for projects to get done. Is this something new? Was the projects list moved from moodle.com to this new Jobs forum? I've never noticed it before.
BTW I had a conversation with Helen Foster the other day about how to reply to those posts, and she talked about how it used to be different, but now it has been changed to not allow replies (one uses e-mail or private Moodle messages). Anyway, this indicates that the Jobs forum is not absolutely brand new. Other than that, I'm in the dark.

If you're looking for work, I'd still recommend sending your cv to a few moodle partners!
The Moodle Jobs board is relatively new - there were a lot of people advertising new full time positions in the forums, so a single place to look for details is great! - I see the comments on the forum allow people to post that they're looking for a full-time job in moodle!

Thx for the response, but I'm not looking for a full-time job. As my profile says, I am disabled and couldn't handle it. All I'm looking for are development/support projects I could work on from time to time at home, on my own schedule. As I said before, I thought there was supposed to be a list of such projects at moodle.com, from requests Moodlers have made to that site, which one can be paid for and which frequently later become part of Moodle. If that is still true, I can't find it. The closest thing to it seems to be this new Jobs Forum.

The Moodle Jobs forum was created about a month ago (MDLSITE-334). It may be used for people looking for part-time as well as full-time Moodle-related work.
Hi Richard,
Sorry, I don't think there was ever such a list of projects on moodle.com.
Anyway, the best place to "hook up" on these things these days, whether you are a developer looking for paid work, or someone looking to pay a developer, is on the Moodle jobs board.
Also, specific small projects intended for core Moodle should be listed in the Moodle tracker etc regardless of who is working on it, just so everyone knows what's going on.
