I am running Moodle 1.8 and would like to change the word "Topics" as it displays above the combo-list on the home page. I cannot find this in the language files; perhaps I'm blind. Any ideas or recommendations?

Go to Administration - Configuration - Language - Edit strings
You need the file 'moodle.php'
The string you want to change is 'topicoutline'
This is how it works in my older version (than 1.8)...
