I am new to Moodle. We have installed 1.8 +. We want to use Moodle to evaluate students their ability to systematically read a scientific article. The idea is to upload a paper in PDF and to make every student to comment on that article answering specific questions. One studens should not be able to see the commnet of others so it is and individual assignemet. Which module would you recommend to manega this type of task ?

The easiest response would be to use the "Assignment" Module in Moodle. It will allow you to create an "Assignment" activity, provide a set of instructions (as well as to upload and link the PDF for your students to view it), and then to allow the students to submit private comments answering the questions you had included in the Assignment directions.
