Several students sometimes (not always.. many don't experience the issue) take quizzes (20 or so multiple choice questions randomly drawn from a pool), but when they submit the quiz, a score of 0 is recorded. Strangely, I can visit their effort and note correct totals for each question. Then I do an "over-ride" on the last question to get some sort of total to register. (Unfortunately these are returned to 0 if there is a regrading of all tests).
The occurrance is very intermittent. The same 2-3 out of 40 students seem to experience the problem on some, but not all of the quizzes and tests that they take during the course. In addition, I allow students to take the quiz over up to 3 times. I've had students whose efforts to score totalled correctly on one trial with results of "0" on two other trials of the same test (I don't know if these were always from the same computer.) The questions involved have been imported, though the general successfulness of them suggests to me some sort of student browser or java problem?
Any troubleshooting suggestions would be much appreciated.
