General help

I have a wierd problem.

Some (but not all) of my students dont seem to be able to upload a BMP file to hand in their assignment. I have checked the attributes, and the max file size is set to 38M. It all works fine for about 80% of students, but not for the other 20% - no matter what we try. The browser throws up a "page not found" error and moodle (upon refresh of the page) gives a "parameter missing" error. I check the moodle logs, but they dont seem helpful.

The really wierd part is, if they cut/paste the picture into a word document, it will upload fine (as a word document).

So, I have a work around (it looks better in word anyway), but the fact that it works for some students, but not others, and word docs upload fine, leaves me feeling unsettled.

I am running the latest (unpatched) version of moodle on Win2000 server. EVERYTHING else seems fine.
