Teaching with Moodle

Hi all,

2 classes same teacher but I want the classes as separate courses within this course. Groups or meta course.
I have not used metacourses at all.
Ive tried to set up groups here to distinguish between classes but am still trying, we have never done this here, only started last week.
I set the course up with groups and set up the names of the groups. then Students enrolled in the course. How do I now get students into groups that I set up, I manually assigned each student to a group but the students are not enrolled into the groups via the enrollment key set for each group.
Can I get each group to submit a group assessment using groups.
