Issue with permissions

I am having an issue with setting up my courses in moodle. I have multiple users that have access to our areas. What I am trying to create is that when a non-administrative user preferably student logs into the site that they only able to access the courses which they are enrolled in. For example Jim Smith should have access to produce, dairy, meats and frozen foods, but Joe Jones should only have access to produce, but unfortunately he really has access to all areas (produce, dairy, meats and frozen foods). What would be the best course of action to set the users so that they have access to the correct sections of the grocery store?

You could enrol all your students onto the correct courses either manually or by using the upload users utility, then close enrolments on all courses to stop students accessing courses they shouldn't have access to. Go to the admin block for each course and click Settings. On this page, set Course enrollable to No.

Alternatively, if you wanted your users to manage enrolments, you could set an enrolment key for each course and only give this password to those who need access to the course in question (Admin block > Settings > Enrolment key).

Hope this helps,
