Okay, I am feeling kind of stupid here... I need to take a look at this and know how many unique visits Moodle.org gets each day.

This should be easy, right? So why am am not seeing what I want? I know it is right there!

Thanks,
Art

Well, either we are both stupid, or it is really the case that the particular info that you want is not there...

What they call reach comes the closest to what you want. For the past three months Moodle was averaging 0.0134 %
According to the site this would mean that if you took random samples of one million Internet users, you would on average find that 134 of them visit moodle.org. That makes you think there is a lot of ground to gain (on the other hand only about 10.000 websites generate more traffic).
Also people that are interested in Moodle might not be interested in having an Alexa toolbar in their browser (as opposed to the average Internet user). Do you have one?

Maybe Martin D. can just give you a general figure for the amount of unique visits per day... or is that information too private/sensitive?

As Hans mentioned, Alexa doesn't know the unique visits/visitors per day. They could have an approximate for the unique visitors, but it would be quite unreliable. Alexa only samples the visits made by the people using the Alexa tool bar.

Alexa, and most other stats too, are good for seeing changes in the traffic ("trends") and comparing the traffic of two or more sites, when the measurements are done in the same way.

Edit: Example of Alexa comparison smile
