Enrolment

Hi,
I am trying to use the upload users feature and I cannot get it to enroll students in a given course. I have created a comma delimited file with what I think are correct field names: course1, lastname, firstname, idnumber, username, password, address, city, phone1, phone2, email, type1. I have double checked to make sure I am using a valid course short name (the course actually exists).

The upload goes well, users get added to the database, but they are not enrolled. I see a series of messages like "user xx updated not enrolled in xxxxxx".

I am using Moodle 1.7, and I used this feature a month ago with no problems. Any hints on what might be happening here?
