Hello all,
I have tried to upgrade our version of Moodle from 1.5.3+ to 1.7.1+ which went well.
Before I did that I upgraded the mySQL to 5.0 which also went well!
Problem is after I did the conversion to Unicode.
I attempted this twice, the first time the it was incomplete, so I went back and retried the conversion. It started where it had failed so I thought it should be fine.
When it completed I logged out and tried to log back in only to be told that it could not connect to the database (No I did not make a note of the error, silly I know)
I thought I would try and check the database using phpMyAdmin and I get the following error
"Cannot load session extension. Please check your PHP configuration"
Now when I try to find my php.ini file it does not exist, but when I try to copy my backup of the file into the /etc directory Iget "Access denied cannot write to php.ini"
Is this a result of the upgrade? Can Anyone help? Did I remember to take out the trash?
Cheers
Ok so I sorted out the locked php.ini file by removing PHP and re-installing it.
Then I deleted the Moodle folder and re-extracted it from the archive (I am testing)
Now when I log on all I get is
"The site is undergoing maintenance and is currently not available"
Even though I am logged in as the admin user
Any advice?
