.htaccess

.htaccess

Hi there,

I've just uploaded moodle 1.7.1 to a webserver - so far, so good. I've created the .htacess file (see attachment), but somehow this does to seem to work as needed. I cannot run the install.php successfully. Two questions:
a) Could it be that the server is having difficulties with the .htaccess file? I've uploaded it now several times with FileZilla, but it somehow seems to disappear (??!!??) after a while...
b) Do I have to edit any other file before I run the install.php? I thought it would edit the config.php for me, but I get error messages like "550: Could not change directory" when running install.php.
I'm using Apache 2, mySQL and a database called moodle is already in place.

Thanks for any help,
Sandra

Okay, .htaccess originally wasn't recognized as a proper file, so please ignore question a. But I still get the "550: Could not change directory" error.
