There are some bugs in the ULPGC assignment module which I am sure other folks are experiencing too.
  1. The URL of the file given in Feedback from the Teacher is erroneous. For example,
    http://moodle.macarius.earlham.edu/mod/ULPGCassignment/file.php/7/moddata/ULPGCassignment/
    6/responses/14/6/calendar_assignments.png should actually be:

    Somewhere in the code the string '/mod/ULPGCassignment' is prepended to the correct return URL. Anyone know where???
    This happens with 'Advanced Uploading of Files' and 'Uploading of files' option in Moodle 1.6.1 and Moodle 1.6.3+
    This is a show stopper since students cannot view the returned file.
  2. Setting 'View Peer Submissions' to 'No' has no effect. That is, students get a link 'view submissions by peers' when this option is set to 'No'. Irritating but not a show stopper.
  3. In 'Advanced Uploading of Files', if the Teacher chooses 'Allow multiple files' No then the student does not see a 'Send for marking ' button and uploads are seen as Draft. Changing 'allow multiple files' to 'Yes' corrects the problem.
    Here again, annoying but not a show stopper.
  4. Finally, ther are a number of unallocated string variables in the English language file, eg submit and oncesent on the advanced uploading files screen.
I used the ULPGCassignment.zip from the discussion ULPGCassignment: multiple files & group assignment and as far as I can tell there have been no updates to this. I find it hard to credit that nobody else has experienced these problems and I'm hoping that Enrique has an update. مبتسم

Well, I did manage to suss out the problem all by myself and 'with a little help from my friends' as Joe Cocker might say. Here's the entry to my ITI tiddlywiki with the details and here's an entry with the ULPGC module (no lang files, just what goes in /mod) all zipped up and ready to go.

This is looking like a very good module for us (everyone I guess). Is there a place where new versions are being updated so we can keep track of the latest?

I'm going to start working on bug #2 above as well as an annoying 'feature' that when an Assignment is listed on the 'Overview of my courses' page a corresponding ULPGCassignment is listed there too even though the faculty may not have created any of these at all. These fixes are only really worthwhile for version 1.6.x since my understanding is that the ULPGC features have been rolled into the standard assignment for v1.7.

If and when I get these bugettes squashed I'll post the updated ULPGC assignment in the module database but this is really Enrique Castro's baby. Until that time, you can download the module from here and then overwrite the module according to instructions from the two links I gave in my previous posting.
