Hi Ciarán,
What exactly do you mean by "banner"? Do you mean the orange colorstrip.gif which is displayed at the top of the site? This is a .gif file 1800px wide by 40px high. It does not have a "default" size in the theme's CSS. It is referred to in styles_layout.css in this rule:
.navbar {
width:100%;
margin:0;
padding:0;
background:url(pix/colorstrip.gif) left no-repeat;
height:3em;
border:0 none
}

Joseph

PS.- If you said why you need this information it might be easier to help you.

Hi Joseph

What I wanted to do was place an image, containing a logo above the orange colorstrip you refer to.

I thought at first that the writing there was an images, but now I see it's just text.  As a result I've changed to the default theme with the moodle logo in the banner at the top, however I think the OrangeWhite theme is a lot cleaner looking.

Thanks for any help of advice you can give

Ciarán
