Please fix LDAP User Sync for new SQL servers (MDL-7525)

Can I get a developer to look at Tracker Issue 7525?

I reported it awhile back but have yet to get any response. As of now, the LDAP account sync code is MySQL/Postgres specific. It will not work on MSSQL or Oracle. I have attached a patch to the bug report that should add support for these other two databases. The patch of course needs some testing first.

Bump. This really needs to be fixed for 1.7.x and/or 1.8.0. I submitted the bug report (and patch!) back in Nov. The current code is MySQL/PostgreSQL specific and needs updating if we are claiming to support MSSQL/Oracle. It would be a major obstacle for larger institutions wishing to use MSSQL and LDAP based auth.

Can I get some kind of comment on the bug's status?

OK, I dug a little deeper and saw that related bug 8153 (maybe should be a duplicate) is marked as to-do for 1.8 and that Eloy has his eye on it.
