I finally run my testing moodle site. But a new problem arise. I've create a dummy role, assign him as course creator so he can add a new course under the course categories. But when I logged as that dummy (so I have course creator role), I only find a block which consists course categories. But else than that, there is no tools I can use to create a course.
I went to the course I've made before as admin for the role. After that I click all course link under administration block. But the only thing I can do only request for a course to the admin. I know this is not the way it supposed to be for course creator role. So if any of you can give me a hint, I would appreciate it a lot
How recent is your version? There was a bug concerning this that has been fixed now. See MDL-7540.
Okay, I think that's the same problem. My version is 1.7. But ... how do I install the patches...
I think that the easiest way would simply be to download the current version of 1.7 and then take the course/category.php file, which is the only one being altered by the patch, and substituting it in your own moodle directory.
Hmm, it still won't work. Or was it my mistake? If there is no wrong with the program (assumed I already install the last patch), can you tell me what should I do next in this scenario.
I'm log in to the Moodle as Creator Course. After the login page what should I do to add a new course ? (example: clicking the Moodle logo, etc.)
Thanks
Fanny

If the logged on user has course creation privileges, then there should be a "Add a New Course" button when you are viewing a category. Teachers will see "Course Request" instead.
