If so, we have a free moodle site to help your kids learn Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Another shameless plug but for a free service. Autodesk is gracious enough to provide free design software to the teams and we provide the necessary training tutorials.

We're in the business of producing Video CAD Tutorials and delivering them in a variety of Moodle based deployments, so we decided to make the content and teaching environment free to Robotics Teams. As a team leader you will be setup with a team site / course and have editing teacher rights to your area. All teams will share access to the tutorials themselves.

The site is located at http://robots.cadlearning.com . Team Leaders need to contact me directly with proof of team number and leadership role.

Our other sites include:

Student Faculty Campus CADLearning.com Retail and a boatload of private labeled sites for Colleges and Companies. Weyerhaeuser Corp., Moraine Valley Community College, Lanier Technical College, Central Georgia Tech. College, Abbot Labs, Ford Motor, LSW Architects, AUGI’s Top DAUG quiz that ran at Autodesk U. and the weekly CAD Camps, Trane, M2 Technologies and LA CAD both Autodesk Resellers offering our tutorials as an adjunct to their classroom training.

Yes, our homeschool First Robotics Team #1132 uses Moodle to share files for 3dsmax, communicate and collaborate. (http://www.raptar.net/) Is your material in the Creative Commons or available only through your site with login? Our members' families are very selective about using commercial sites requiring login and email info and prefer using their own site, USFIRST or ChiefDelphi.

Mark,

Our videos are not public domain and yes, they are only available on our sites or by use of our DVDs. This new, free, site is our best way of contributing to the First Robotics effort while still protecting our property from dissemination on the web.

Yes, Aiken HS is heavily into First Robotics and we do use Moodle to get students, parents and teachers together for this.
