We have had intermittent problems with tutors losing in-line comments entered in the HTML editor in the feedback window when grading or updating assignments.
Here are some examples:
Firefox 2.0 on Windows XP. Error message upon clicking the 'Save and show next' button or the 'Save' button: a script on the page is busy or cannot be executed; results: pressing 'Continue to wait' generates the same error message, while pressing 'Cancel' closes the on-line editor but does not save the comments. There no significant errors in the Firefox error console, (there were a dozen or so css-related warnings, but they were not critical). The computer was rebooted, the browser cache cleared and Firefox restarted. But this had no effect.
MS IE 6.0 on Windows XP Pro. Error message upon pressing 'Save and show next': Cannot find server>This page cannot be displayed.
MS IE 6.0 on Windows 2000. Error: 'Database connection failed. It is possible that the database is overloaded or otherwise not running properly.The site administrator should also check that the database details have been correctly specified in config.php'.
Has anyone experienced similar problems? Does anyone know what might be the cause?
