I'm going on a canal boat round the stourport ring.

For anyone who has never been on a narrowboat before, I highly recommend it. The speed limit on canals is just 4 miles per hour, but in practice you never get up to that speed. You just drift along watching the beautiful English courtryside go by, then you have the difficult decision of whether to stop at a pub for a meal and beer, or to cook a delicious meal for yourselves and consume it with one of the bottles of wine you brought with you.
It is the most relaxing form of holiday I know, and right now, I need it.
Of course, it is slightly more sensible to go in the spring or summer, when the days are longer and there is less chance of rain, but I bought new waterproofs last week, so I should be OK.
