This issue may well have come up already but, since I'm not a 'techie', I'm not sure I understand some of the replies.

My problem is that when a student doing an online text edits his submission the teacher can then click 'grade' and give some feedback providing 'comment inline' has been selected.  The student can then go back to improve his work, but when the teacher returns to mark the improved piece it appears in a box UNDERNEATH the top editable box.  Should the improved work not appear in the editable box?  Is there any way to get it to appear in the top box?

No Andy, there is no way to have the online text (re-submitted by the student) overwriting the previous text which have been *inline commented* by the instructor.

Should you need to inline-comment the new assignement, you need to select/copy it from the bottom editable box and paste it in your editable comment box.
