Turn Editing on for Course Categories very slow

Hi

I'm running Moodle 1.5.4+ on a Linux CentOS 4.4 platform. The hardware is a Dell twin xeon server with 4GB of RAM. Both PHP acceleration and MySQL cacheing are enabled.

Our site can be found at:

http://vle.bromley.ac.uk/vle/

Generally performance is fine, but specifically when I "Turn Editing On" on the site Course Categories page it takes about 11 seconds to generate the page.

This is proving a nuisance when re-organising courses and categories site wide.

Any suggestions why this particular page takes so long to load?

Thanks in advance...

Clive

Hi

Did you solve the problem?

From this end, the site is very responsive. Of course I can't turn the "Editing on"!

Activate performace information (Administration - Configuration - perfdebug at the bottom) and compare the execution times with and without editing on.

No, we've still got the problem. The site is very responsive UNTIL I turn editing on on the Course Categories page!

perdebug does not appear to exist with Moodle 1.5.4+ and all the Evironment options are reporting OK
