How can I add an open and close date for the book such that it is only available during a certain period.
I would like it to function like the quiz module. Such that If I use the book as the learning resource, I would like to hide it during the quiz day.
Also this function would allow my to schedule the books during the course to allow my to control the flow of information to the students.
I see this function in other activities, can I do a simple cut and paste hack to the code?

Unless you want to add some extensive changes, it won't be possible without some more third-party tools.

The Course Program block allows an instructor to program hide/show dates for activities in their course. A second component of the block allows an instructor to reset the due dates for the modules in their course.
