Questionnaire display options

I've got one of my administrators trying to develop a questionnaire and it's not quite doing what they want, so I thought I'd see if anyone here has any ideas.  They are basically asking the same set of questions several times and asking the user to rate those questions on a 1-5 scale according to different characteristics.

For example, I've got five people, Jim, Joe, Bob, Billi, and Sandy, that I want the rest of my users to rate from 1-5 on the basis of several abilities.  As far as I've been able to do, I can set up my questions and put each of these people in a field.  This gives me a questionnaire like this:

Which makes the users read the same thing over and over.  Is there any way to make the module display in such a way that the users see this:

Joe
Bob
Billi
Sandy
Cooking ability

Driving ability

Obviously, we could only use this type of format in this type of scenario, but I think it might happen often enough that it would be worth looking into - I just have no idea how to do it!

P.S. - I'm using three 'abilities', and the questionnaire I'm working with has 27!  I get tired just reading three of them over and over!

Well, this question was stated more than one year and a half ago, but I would be keen on the result of this theme. Namely, I would also like to state two questions for each option: there are factors that need to be evaluated (how did they influence the locational decision of the company) using ordinal scale, but at the same time I would also like to ask wether the influence of the locational factor was positive or negative:

Question: How important were the below stated institutional factors for the locational decision of your company and what influence did they have:

                 the importance          the influence
tax policy     1  2  3  4  5           positive / negative

1-it cant't be evaluated; 2-partly; 3-important; 4-very important; 5-it was crucial

I would be grateful for any ideas.

Hi Simon,

I'm afraid what you want is not possible with the current versions of the Moodle Questionnaire module. You'll have to ask two separate questions. However, it's possible in the LimeSurvey software (see attached screenshot). If you do not absolutely need your questionnaire to be hosted on a Moodle site, you might consider using LimeSurvey which is a dedicated survey software, and is free and open source like Moodle.
