I take questions from the CD's that are provided by the textbook publishers. I export pools of questions for the math teachers. This makes it very easy to create a quiz.
For a teacher who just wants things to work, the Moodle quiz qualifies. The grades go into the gradebook, and feedback is instant. I like to take a pool of 200 questions and then have the software randomly assign 10 at a time for a quiz. I let the students take it multiple times.
I say sell your teachers on posting assignments and using the gradebook. Show them the forum and some quizzes. Invite them to poke around.
