some changes has been done in backup & restore recently. They include:
- Preliminary support of groups: Now groups and members are included in backup and restored. Also, groups support is extended to forums.
- Scheduled Backups: Some additional checks, timezone aware execution and groups support has been included.
- Bugs: One important bug was detected (and solved !!) thanks to Jacob. It potentially affected every restore (users section) from versions between January, 4 and yesterday (Moodle 1.2dev only). It was introduced when solving another bug.
So I recommend you to update to the latest version. If you can make some test about all this functionalities, every feedback will be welcome.
