Hello, I wanted to know more about forums. Please let me know what are the best things to get started on forums for a much more interactive learning. Thank you so much!
I often integrate required graded forums every week, along with quizzes and other assignments. One technique that I like is to provide 4 to 6 open-ended discussion topics for that week, each discussion topic related to something from the learning objectives, and allow students to pick which topics they want to discuss. I often require a minimum of four posts per student for a 100% grade, and their posts must demonstrate some thought, not just "I agree with Rica."
I also use an ungraded weekly forum like, "Ch03 - Ask any question about Chapter 3 here", where students can post anything.
