Hi,

I'm hoping someone can explain the limitations to me on Manual Mark as Read in forums. We're using Moodle 4.5.8  and Moodle Mobile 5.1.0. We have switched on Manual Mark as Read. Our courses have discussion forums with potentially hundreds of posts and it seemed like a good way of users being able to actually keep track of what they had and hadn't read. Notwithstanding the page jumping that happens on refresh when you mark as read, this feature does not seem to 'play nicely' with the mobile app's forum functionality. There is no way (that I can see) to manually mark as read on the mobile. 

Any advice appreciated on how the automatic versus manual mark as read can be configured would be very helpful.

Managing the manual "mark as read" feature for forum posts via Web Services isn't currently supported by Moodle LMS, which is why we haven't been able to implement it in the mobile app yet.
