Does anyone know how to install "read tracking" into an "assignment" activity. I am using the assignment as a 'journal' and would find it helpful to know when a student has posted a journal reply. "Read tracking" is an available choice in the "forum" activity, but not in assignment--I least I can't find it.

After you have created the assignment - click on it as a teacher (editing off).
You should see a link at top right saying 'view x submissions' or similar.
Then you should see a list of submitted responses with dates. if students are allowed to resubmit then this date is updated.
The list also shows when you have commentred/assessed/responded - and thius is also updated if you update your comment/grade.
