Hi,

I work with a provider that uses LTI 1.1 as an external tool.  When we try to sync grades back to Moodle the request is failing.  I'm seeing a "The server responsed with an invalid XML document".

I have not worked much with Moodle (though this currently works with most other LMSs) and I'm guessing I messed something up with the tool configuration or something like that.  The assignment creation and completion work as expected, it is just the grade syncing.

Any help or insight is appreciated.

This is for an LTI 1.0/1.1 tool that supports deep linking.

Hi Jake,

That's going to be hard to troubleshoot unless we can see the raw response being sent back (the one that, presumably, triggers the "The server responded with ..." error message you've reported).

Looking at that screenshot, it seems you've got it configured correctly, thouhg. In fact, for 1.1, where you're likely using the Basic Outcomes (BO) service anyway, you could likely use any of the options under the Assignment and Grade Services (AGS) select box, because it always support BO as a fall back anyway, from memory.

If you can provide more information on the response, we might be able to pinpoint the problem.
