This is an announcement that an unscheduled release of Moodle LMS was released on Monday, 17th March 2025. The following versions are now available: 4.5.3, 4.4.7, 4.3.11, and 4.1.17.
These new versions contain bug-fixes and important security patches, so please upgrade your sites as soon as possible. Thank you to all of our community members that contributed to these releases.
The Moodle LMS 4.5.3 release includes an important fix to a serious security issue. While we strongly advise you to upgrade as soon as possible, setting the zend.exception_ignore_args = 1 setting in your php.ini file will mitigate the issue. This is already the default value for some OS distributions (you may also see this set to ‘On’, which is also safe). If you are running Moodle LMS 4.5.0, 4.5.1, or 4.5.2, and do not have this setting enabled already, you should consider requiring a password reset for all users, and enabling Multi-Factor Authentication.

This minor release does not affect the schedule for the upcoming April major/minor releases or any support periods.
